Ed Case

U.S Congressman Ed Case became an Honorary Counselor for the SCORE of Hawaii Chapter 159, effective August of 2003. He was awarded the presentation by the board in Hawaii on behalf of the National SCORE Organization in Washington, DC.

Ed served in the Hawaii State Legislature for 8 years, then in the U.S. House. While in Congress, Ed was a member of the Small Business Committee and has been a staunch defender of small business rights nationally and in Hawai, was appointed to the Hawaii Pacific Export Council by the Secretary of Commerce and is a Director of Small Business Hawaii.

Mr. Riss has over 35 years experience in the development, marketing and sales of consumer goods.  Most recently, he served as Executive VP Sales and Marketing with the Hawaiian Natural Water Co.  In this capacity, he was part of the team that built and ultimately sold this start-up $3 Million business.  He also shared responsibility for implementing an Initial Public Offering of the company.

Prior to joining Hawaiian Natural Water, he directed the worldwide business development efforts of Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. as their Executive VP Marketing & Sales.  During his 3-year tenure at Mauna Loa, he grew volume by 11% while improving operating profits by $10.8 Million.

Mr. Riss also has extensive experience as a General Manager.  In the 1980's, he personally managed businesses ranging in size from $8 Million to $250 Million within Borden, Inc.’s Snacks Division.  As General Manager of a $53 Million business, he executed a turnaround that took the company from profits of $47,000 to $4.4 Million.Prior to becoming a General Manager,
